(August 3rd, 2015) – Last night in Atlanta, GA young professionals, music industry leaders, and taste makers gathered in an unlit room to experience the sensual sounds of Motown’s artist Bj The Chicago Kid from his new album, “In My Mind”.  Guest enjoyed complimentary Chicago deep dish pizza provided by Nancy’s pizza, complimentary beer  while vibing to a playlist of Bj’s music.  Later in the evening, Bj arrived to a room full of people ready to present his new album “In My Mind“.  The young Chicago native said he choose “In My Mind” as the title because he wants his fans to see what he sees in his mind while he’s listening to music.  As he skimmed through a few tracks on the album, some songs that stuck with me were “That Girl” which is a single off the album featuring Atlanta’s own OG Maco from hit song “You Guessed It”. He was in rare form, unlike his radical rapping, he sang on the track with a little bit of auto tune.  Also the song, “Church” where he speaks on living a ratchet but righteous lifestyle.  He also spoke about some musical pioneers that have influenced him one being James Brown. Bj says “Whenever I listen to James Brown it makes me feels good to be black.” To show his appreciation, he followed up with another track on the album called “A Woman’s World“, where plays off of the late great “A Man’s World” by James Brown.   Before the night concluded, the Chicago sensation played a super exclusive track, not on the album, entitled, “Oh My God“.  Oh my God! Let me just say I don’t know how this song didn’t make the album! So I asked him, “Where can we find this track since it won’t be on the album?” He replied, “Me and my team are planning something special with this track, that I can’t really speak about right now, just be on the look out for it”. Bj The Chicago Kid is currently touring with Three-time GRAMMY award-winning singer-songwriter soul sister Jill Scott  who recently released her new album entitled “Woman” where she features Bj on a super romantic track by the name of “Beautiful Love“, I asked him how was  it being in the studio and on tour with Jill and he replied by saying “She’s such a wonderful human being she’s the type to bust into a song in the middle of conversation”. R&B fans who love real music, look no further, Bj The Chicago Kid says “R&B isn’t dead, we’re just pushing the envelope.”
