(Wilmington, NC) April 9th, 2016 – On Saturday April 9th at Portia Hines Park better known as 10th St Park, Support The Port Foundation, Inc hosted the Stop The Violence, Start The Peace Rally, during Wilmington’s Historical Azalea Festival Saturday. The event began with an opening speech from Vice-Chairman, Jonathan Barfield, Jr., and a prayer for peace from New Covenant Holiness Church Prayer Team. Guest that came out enjoyed free food from Billy Ray’s Family Restaurant, and drinks provided by NC Always.  Kids enjoyed having their face painted, and making tie dye T-Shirts.  There were a plethora of amazing live performances from artist and bands from the DC and the Wilmington area. The goal of the event was to bring the people of Wilmington together with music and art from all genres, cultures, and backgrounds.
